Joel Simaie

Joel Simaie is responsible for sourcing transactions for real estate financing and investments.

Prior to founding Versa Capital, Inc., Mr. Simaie served as Vice President in the Real Estate Finance Group of Lehman Brothers in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for providing debt and equity financing for acquisition and development projects throughout the United States.

Mr. Simaie has been involved in the commercial real estate industry for 14 years and has built extensive relationships with public and private investment firms, banks, developers, brokers and capital providers. During his career in real estate he has funded over $1 Billion dollars in commercial financing ranging in size from $1 Million to $200 Million. Mr. Simaie has parlayed his expertise in real estate finance to the investment side of the real estate business where he is actively working on acquisitions of properties and notes secured by real estate. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Simaie held positions at George Smith Partners and Arthur Andersen.

Mr. Simaie received his Bachelors and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. He is active in various professional organizations including the Urban Land Institute, ICSC and the Lusk Center for Real Estate. Mr. Simaie is currently serving on the Board of USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate. He guest lectures in both USC and UCLA on topics of finance and is regularly a panelist at various real estate conferences.
